Beachin' It

Kellie took us to the beach to fulfill Jodi's wish list.  I can see why people love to be near the water. It was a beautiful beach right next to a military base.  We not only had the fun beach to enjoy, but the Navy ships and planes coming in and out of the base were amazing distractions.  The planes were so loud, I had to cover my ears, but I laughed out loud every time one flew right over my head.  It was awesome. Thanks Kellie!

This wuz Us.

After reading Kaye's beautiful entry about the Temple, I started reflecting back in our family. These old pictures sure tell a story, don't they guys? Thank heavens for digital photography today. And photoshop. Good grief.

Old Historic San Diego & Mormon Battalion Visitor's Center

Kellie took us to the Old Historic San Diego Center where the city first sprang up. The Mormon Battalion was a significant part of those beginnings when they stayed in the small community during their march. They Mormons taught the people there how to make brick and the people introduced dry farming and irrigation to the Battalion so the Mormons could survive in the deserts in Utah when they arrived. It was a providential meeting for both groups.
